Musa Basjoo’ is a banana tree, also called fibre banana, from China. The banana tree is loved for its strong fibres from which, for example, books are bound. It is the most Hardy banana tree there is, up to -10 degrees Celsius. Above ground it will lose its leaves, but these sprout again in spring. The special decorative leaves of the tree give your garden a real tropical look. The fruit of the tree is only for ornamental use and is not edible. The plant can be planted in the ground or in a large pot. When the leaves have reached their age they will die. You can remove these leaves with a pair of scissors or a knife. It is important to give the plant enough water, especially in the summer period.
