‘Ribes rubrum White Pearl’ is a well-known white currant. The shrub is self-pollinating and flowers in April with inconspicuous green-white flowers in hanging racemes. From these, bright yellow-white berries form small clusters. The berries can be harvested from June and have a sour, but fresh taste. The more sun the bush gets, the better the harvest of the berries will be. The berries can be made into delicious jam or juice, but you can also eat them straight from the bush. Prune the shrub to preserve a lot of fruit. You do this in the winter by cutting away the (side) branches. In the winter it loses its leaves and can even endure temperatures up to -34 degrees Celsius without problems. You can place it in the garden, but of course also on a balcony or terrace. It grows in any soil and likes the full sun.’
