The fruits are firm, light blue with a good taste. They are also suitable for making jam or jelly. Blueberries are a very healthy and tasty fruit. The berry contains anthocyanin, a substance that gives the berry its blue colour. This substance has a good effect on the heart and blood vessels. In addition, blueberries contain antioxidants and there are few foods that contain more antioxidants than blueberries. The shrub prefers a sunny spot in slightly acid soil.
