Vaccinium Corymbosum Goldtraube 71′ is a blueberry, also called American blueberry. The shrub grows about 1.5 to 2 metres high and 150 cm wide and only grows on acid soil. Sandy soil and peaty soil are acidic and therefore suitable for this plant. If you want to place the plant in clay soil, you will have to add acidic soil in order for the plant to survive. It has thin branches and small fresh green leaves. The blueberry blooms in clusters and the flower is white-cream to pink in colour. Flowering takes place in the first half of May. It is a strong plant and gives quite a lot of fruits. The berries are medium-sized, light blue, firm and have a delicious taste. They contain many antioxidants, so super healthy! They can be picked from mid-July to mid-August. Fresh blueberries can be kept for a week, but you can also freeze them. This plant is completely self-pollinating and requires almost no care. Protect the berries from birds with a net. The plant is Hardy and resistant to diseases.
