Carex morrowii ‘Variegata’, also known as Sedge, is a strong and evergreen ornamental grass that is perfectly suited as a ground cover or in a planter. The sloping leaves are green in the centre and creamy white at the edges. This garden plant feels perfectly at home in the sun as well as in the shade. The application possibilities of this ornamental grass are endless. It brings colour to the border when planted in small groups and looks best with several plants. In winter, the leaves remain green. In spring the plant produces pale yellow stems with brown flower spikes. Carex morrowii ‘Variegata’ is very easy to maintain. Pruning is only necessary when the plant has withered leaves and is best done in early spring, so that it has a fresh appearance again.
