The Carex Irish Green is a winter-hardy and strong evergreen ornamental grass that is perfectly suited as a ground cover or as a solitary. The application possibilities of this sedge are endless. This garden plant feels at home both in the sun and in the shade. The growth habit of this Carex is upright. This grass does very well in well-drained soils. It can grow up to 30 centimetres high and does not need pruning as it is an evergreen. If a harsh winter causes brown spots to appear or if your sedge does not look fresh anymore, you can cut it back to 10 centimetres above the ground. Do this in the winter so that your Sedge has time to grow fresh green and healthy leaves again in the spring.
