A very special Clematis that flowers throughout the summer. From May to September you can enjoy its large white-pink striped umbels. The Clematis provides an oasis of flowers in its first year. Unlike most Clematis species that flower for one to two months, ‘Countess of Wessex’ can be enjoyed for up to five months. On a pergola or climbing frame, ‘Countess of Wessex’ will grow to a maximum height of 180 cm. This clematis prefers a spot in the (semi-) full sun. A spot in the morning and/or evening sun is most ideal. Because ‘Countess of Wessex’ is a compact variety, it can also be placed in a pot on a balcony, terrace or even in a hanging basket. In order for the Clematis to climb better, it needs a little help. The best way is to guide the plant along a rack, wire or stick. Pruning is not necessary. However, remove dead and damaged twigs in early March. You can prune this Clematis in the spring to a maximum height of 20 centimetres above the ground.
