‘Cydonia Oblonga Leskovacks’ is a quince that grows into a small tree with a striking flowering. The quince is a fruit that looks like a cross between an apple and a pear. It is often a little lumpy and has an irregular shape. The quince has a yellow skin and is white inside. Quinces are not tasty raw because of their hard and sour flesh. The quince is therefore processed into compote, jam, jelly, fruit juice or tea. The quince is related to the rose and therefore the fruits have a very aromatic smell. The tree flowers in May and June with light pink flowers and the fruit can be harvested in September and October. The leaves are oval shaped and have an olive-green colour. In autumn the leaves change to a striking yellow hue. The best soil for the quince is moist and needs sufficient sun to grow best.
