Fargesia Murielae Winter Black’ is a sturdy not rampant bamboo. The leaves have a very fine structure and the bamboo stems turn black in the winter. Hence its name ‘Winter Black’. It is a very strong and hardy bamboo and has few requirements in terms of location. It grows in any type of soil, both in the sun and in the shade. However, the plant may turn yellow in the winter and early spring due to the cold. As soon as the weather improves, it will regain its beautiful green colour!
