Description
Miscanthus Sinensis ‘Ferner Osten’ is a beautiful ornamental grass which combines well with other grasses and plants. The Silvergrass flowers earlier than most ‘Miscanthus’ species. In this period, brown-red panicles with white tips appear, which colour more towards pink later in the season. The stems of the plant are red and the leaves turn red in the autumn. This ‘Miscanthus’ is a strong and vigorous grower, both in the ground and in a large decorative pot. You can place this grass in full sun to semi shade. It grows best in a humus-rich soil, but has few demands. After the winter it is best to cut this ornamental grass to 10 cm above the ground for a quick and fresh regrowth. In the winter the Miscanthus loses its leaves, but in the spring the plant sprouts again. Even more beautiful and fresh than before!
