Description
Miscanthus Sinensis Kleine Silberspinne’, also known as ‘Silvergrass’, is an ornamental grass with an upright growth. The ‘Kleine Silberspinne’ will not grow very tall, it can reach 175 cm. The narrow leaf is green with an unusual silvery-white vein, changing to orange-brown in the autumn. This beautiful reed flowers in August and September with light red plumes that rise above the plant. The plumes change from light red to golden yellow in the autumn and remain on the plant into the winter. This ornamental grass is Hardy, but loses its leaves to regrow in the spring. Miscanthus Sinensis ‘Kleine Silberspinne’ is one of the lowest growing species and therefore suitable for all types of gardens. Standing alone Miscanthus sinensis is usually the most beautiful. Especially on the edge of a pond or lawn. It is a strong plant and prefers a moist, well-drained soil in full sun or semi shade.
