‘Passiflora Purple Haze’ is a climbing plant with beautiful purple passion flowers. The plant originally comes from Central and Western South America, but now you can also create a tropical atmosphere in your own garden. You can expect flowers in the Passion Flower from June to September. The Passion Flower is a real fair-weather bloomer. On warm days with lots of light and sun, the buds will pop open. On colder and darker days, few flowers will pop open. It is a real climber and therefore likes some support when growing on a climbing frame or fence. The passion flower is not a difficult plant. It is relatively insensitive to the well-known plant diseases, grows quickly and is not very demanding as far as soil and nutrition are concerned. However, ‘Passiflora Purple Haze’ prefers a sunny spot. It flowers more abundantly in the sun than in a place with more shade. Do not be afraid to prune the plant back when it gets too big and too wild. It is a strong and fast-growing plant that will suffer little from this. It may happen that this tropical climber dies above the ground after a harsh winter. In that case, cut the plant off completely. There is a good chance that it will start growing again from the roots in the spring.
