Pyracantha Red Star is a star within the Pyracantha range! This Pyracantha Red Star has fewer thorns than other Pyracanthas and is evergreen. Red Star blooms in June with white flowers. Green berries appear in August and turn red in September. The berries remain bright red until after Christmas, making Red Star a wonderful Christmas accessory. Red Star produces flowers and fruit on 2 year old wood. Plant Red Star in a fertile, well-drained soil. Very Hardy to -30 ºC.
