‘Rubus Idaeus Heritage’ is an autumn raspberry and thus has fruit in the autumn. The flowering of this shrub starts at the end of May with white flowers, and is then richly pollinated by bees and bumblebees. The fruits can be picked at the end of August until the beginning of October. The fruit is bright red and somewhat smaller than other raspberry varieties, but has a good flavour. The raspberry can be eaten fresh, but can also be frozen or used to make delicious jam or liqueur. The fruit is very healthy, being full of antioxidants, minerals and vitamins. This is a very productive species, so a good harvest is guaranteed! After the harvest, it is advisable to remove the branches that have borne fruit so that new young branches can grow in the new year. Rubus idaeus Heritage’ prefers a sunny position in a nutritious, humus-rich soil. It prefers to be placed near a mesh or fence, so that the shrub’s rather flabby stems can be fastened.
